Prettiness at Lake McSwain

Us canoeing on Lake McSwain over Thanksgiving. I was too scared to actually turn around in the canoe, so this is what I got from holding the camera over my head to get a picture of Doug rowing.

Okay, I know it's been FOREVER since I've updated the blog...look for Thanksgiving/Christmas pictures soon! But meanwhile, are these not the cutest dogs ever?

The view

Here is a view of the Midway at the fair from the top of the ferris wheel! It's crazy to see all the bright lights and the little, tiny people. This is the part where I would grab Doug's arm tight and hold my breath!

As you go up you can see the Dallas skyline really well. It's hard to catch in a picture, but it was cool.

State Fair of Texas

"Howdy folks! I'm Big Tex..." We took Becca to the State Fair of Texas last night! Lots of people, beautiful weather, fried food...it was a blast! Doug got a pickle that had been soaked in Kool-Aid brine. I think it was pretty gross, but his fried oreos were good. I, on the other hand, had a Fletcher's Corny Dog - one of the 500,000 that they sell on average during the fair. Yummy!

Doug fell in love with the Dodge Challenger. Definitely a muscle car! And, well, very orange. He'll probably have more to say about that.

Here we are on the Ferris Wheel. Even though it goes nice and slow, it still freaks me out to be up so high. I couldn't even take pictures because I was afraid of letting go of Doug's arm (and of dropping the camera).

Becca (Doug's sister) came to visit us for the weekend from BYU-ID. We had a lot of fun showing her around a litte, including at Williams Square in Las Colinas (where the famous horse statues are). She is thinking about moving down to Austin with us and maybe working for Doug when he opens his practice. She's so much fun to have around that we are really hoping she will!

Another Maggie one.

So I was talking with my grandma, and I told her that Mags could fit in my shoe. She asked if I had taken a picture of that. Here it is. She smelled kind of funny afterwards, but it is cute.

Sherman and Mags are getting along pretty good. They are wrestling and sleep together in the same little crate. I think that they will be pretty darn good with each other.

This is Maggie. She is the newest addition to our pack.

She is a brown and red dapple. She is quite the cutie.

Is it just us, or does Sherman not look too happy? I think he's a little jealous, but they look like they are having fun together so far. Look how much bigger he looks compared to her!

He wandered under Doug's feet at the wrong time - we were making some cookies. Too cute to pass up taking a picture, though.

He is starting to look a lot more like a dachshund instead of a little puppy. He grew a really long nose!

It's funny looking back at older pictures because he's gotten so much bigger in the last month. He weighs 7.5 pounds now, is super long, and is not as fluffy as he used to be.
